Shame stuck its thumb in my chest and pressed sore –
"you could have done more, could've done more, could've done more!"
Believing it, I nursed that melody for so long
– inducing my own hurt.
God provided the interrupt.
"Righteousness is not this! Humility is not hurt!
I've not called you to sacrifice what you do not have.
It's been done!"
Release.
I look down at tired hands, renewed.
I stand on broken knees, rebuilt.
Hope embraces me.
My God stays with me.
Recover.

of searching and meaning
We searched the world around for meaning.
What we sought we found,
But meaning lost its meaning
We veiled our emotion with mixed metaphors, fancy words and delicious phrasing.
So caught in the delivery,
we forgot what we were delivering.
And its all superficial
We sought out those deep and stoic
Sat at the feet of self important
Prophets, philosophers, poets
So caught up in who they were!
We couldnt see who they were
(people are just people are just people)
And so, we left feeling full for a while
At the sight of food, we realized we were empty
At the sight of God, we realized wed been wanting
And He walked a
Gethsemane
Weary eyes burn anew in the night
prayers for peace become Your restless lullaby
and faith, through struggle, is defined.
with a kiss, man pulled You down
such bittersweet betray
the whole world falls as You take up your crown
and rise again from the grave
our lives to save
blood evidence of Your pain
tortured unto death, take no escape
and I won't forget Your name
Jesus, Savior to the world
When its the blind who claim to see,
their souls in bondage, they feel free
